The WWE is slowly moving forward towards Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXIX on May 24, 2025. They have been developing the match card on their weekly shows leading to the event.

The WWE has already made two matches official for Saturday Night’s Main Event. They are expected to announce further matches on Friday Night SmackDown tonight on May 16, 2025 for the upcoming event. However, what matches can the WWE announce at Friday Night SmackDown tonight for the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event . Let’s have a look and find out.

Aleister Black vs The Miz (with Carmelo Hayes) (Singles Match)

Aleister Black has recently returned to the WWE after being away from the WWE for five years. The former NXT Champion has started a feud with The Miz and his protege Carmelo Hayes since his arrival. He has destroyed both The Miz and Carmelo Hayes with his Black Mass week after week. The WWE can book one final feud between them at Saturday Night’s Main Event to end it. They can start their separate storylines after that.

Zelina Vega vs Chelsea Green (Singles Match For The Women’s United States title)

Zelina Vega won the Women’s United States title after she defeated the former champion Chelsea Green on April 25, 2025. More recently, she was supposed to be in a tag team match against Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. However, she revealed her surprise tag team partner in the form of a returning Alexa Bliss. They defeated Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. The WWE can make a rematch between Zelina Vega and Chelsea Green for the Women’s United States title at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Charlotte vs Jade Cargill (Singles Match)

Jade Cargill unfortunately lost the contender match for the WWE Women’s title due to Naomi’s interference. However, before her match she had a serious staredown with Charlotte before entering the ring. Notably “The Queen” Charlotte had to leave the ring while being boo’ed by the fans. However, they cheered for “The Storm” Jade Cargill. Charlotte might get jealous of this and attack Jade Cargill this week on Friday Night SmackDown. This might result in a match between the two at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Damian Priest vs Drew McIntyre (Singles Match)

Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre has already proved that there’s no love lost between them. The two fought each other at WrestleMania 41 and again at Backlash 2025. These two can have one final go at each other at Saturday Night’s Main Event to prove who’s the best if WWE announce it tonight.

Jeff Cobb vs LA Knight (Singles Match)

Jeff Cobb made his debut at Backlash 2025 and specifically attacked LA Knight and costed him the United States title. The newcomer will be given a proper introduction this week by Solo Sikoa and Co. However, LA Knight might interfere and go after Jeff Cobb for revenge. These can attack each through this week and next week. The WWE can then book them for a match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. This can also become Jeff Cobb’s first official match in the WWE.
