WWE has returned with Friday Night SmackDown for the week. The May 16, 2025 edition of the weekly show will be happening at Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina, United States.

The Friday Night SmackDown on May 16, 2025 is the second last show before Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXIX on May 24, 2025. He has been absent from the scene since he lost to John Cena at WrestleMania 41. Cody Rhodes’ return to the WWE is believed to be the beginning of his journey back to the top. Fans will have to wait and see what Cody Rhodes says or does when he appears on Friday Night SmackDown this week.

Money in the Bank Qualifying Matches Start Tonight

The WWE is getting ready for the Money of the Bank 2025 event on June 7, 2025. Thus, Friday Night SmackDown this week will see the beginning of the qualifying matches for the event. Michael Cole has previously announced this on Monday Night Raw on May 12, 2025. However, the participants for the Money in the Bank matches on Friday Night SmackDown are not yet revealed.

The WWE has also featured stars like Solo Sikoa, Randy Orton, Tiffany Stratton, Bianca Belair and LA Knight for May 16, 2025. Fans might even see some of these stars in the qualifying in the matches for Money in the Bank.
