Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins can become John Cena’s next opponent for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Both of them have a considerable history from Rollins’ days as a member of The Authority. Seth Rollins had also become a double champion in the WWE after beating John Cena at Summerslam 2015. He can easily target John Cena’s Undisputed WWE title once again. This will also be a change of scene as pure heel vs heel matches for titles are rare in the WWE nowadays. Moreover, Seth Rollins also has to deal with his archnemesis CM Punk since his return. However, he can easily send Bron Breakker to do the job for him. This match can also start John Cena’s journey back to be the babyface once again.

CM Punk

CM Punk has openly teased a match against John Cena for the Undisputed WWE title through his Instagram story. He watched John Cena retain his title against Randy Orton and responded with two words – “For Now” (via WrestlingWorldCC on Instagram). This might be a hint of things to come in the future. However, he still has to settle his feud with his archnemeses Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman once and for all. Moreover, John Cena and CM Punk had been one of the bitter rivals of each other. They also have produced some great matches in the past. CM Punk might become John Cena’s opponent for the title down the road after he settles his present feud. This might be towards the end of John Cena’s Farewell Tour in 2025.

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has come a long way from being the babyface that everyone hated. He became the heel everyone loved and the founder of “The Bloodline” since his return in 2020. That story ended in WrestleMania 40 and he also suffered a betrayal from Paul Heyman at WrestleMania 41. Roman Reigns vs John Cena can be a little bit hard to predict. Roman Reigns had notably posted about being betrayed by everyone he trusted earlier. This might result into an even more darker incarnation of Roman Reigns – a character who does not trust anyone anymore and attacks both babyfaces and heels. Roman Reigns might however, target John Cena to get his title back. His actions to get John Cena’s attention might cause the fans to start cheering for John Cena again, turning him back into the babyface.

Gunther

Gunther might target John Cena as his next opponent after defeating Pat McAfee at Backlash. His loss at WrestleMania 41 had sent him to a downwards spiral which resulted into the match with Past McAfee. The Ring General might need to get his hands on another title again and come after John Cena. This can be prove to be a great match if the WWE creative team can book can plan it out right. John Cena might have to turn babyface for this feud to happen. Or it can be Gunther who becomes the babyface especially after his display of respect to Pat McAfee after their match.

Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes

John Cena might not have seen the last of Cody Rhodes or Randy Orton. He won ther title from the first at WrestleMania 41. He defeated the second at Backlash. Now, both his two opponents might decide to come after the heel John Cena. Cody Rhodes might want his title back when he returns. Randy Orton, on the other hand, will remain the babyface and continue his feud with John Cena. This will eventually lead to a triple threat for the title. This might also become John Cena’s last match in Boston before he retires. Either Randy Orton or Cody Rhodes wins the title and John Cena can turn babyface at the end of the match.
