John Cena has survived with his title for the second time. He overcame “The Viper” Randy Orton at Backlash 2025 and retained the Undisputed WWE Champion. Notably, John Cena applied the same tactics as he had against Cody Rhodes to win the title at WrestleMania 41 – a low blow and then hitting his opponent on the head with the title.

John Cena’s Wrestling Journey Will Be Ending in Boston in December 2025

John Cena will end his pro wrestling career in Boston, Massachusetts, United States in December 2025. His last match as a WWE wrestler is expected to take place at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. John Cena hails from West Newbury, Massachusetts, United States, which is less than 50 miles from Boston as per reports.

John Cena’s final WWE match location related information has been revealed by WCVB. John Cena’s father John Cena Sr. is notable as Johnny Fabulous, a heel manager in the indie wrestling scene. Shayna Seymour, one of the news anchor for WCVB, revealed that John Cena Sr. has said that his son’s farewell tour is not a storyline but is real. John Cena will be retiring after his last match at TD Garden in Boston. He just has 24 more dates to appear in WWE after Backlash before he reaches his last match. WrestlingWorldCC also put out the news in their official Instagram post.

What Happened in John Cena’s Last Match?

John Cena last fought against Randy Orton at Backlash on June 10, 2025 for the Undisputed WWE Championship. This was also John Cena’s last ever Backlash as a WWE wrestler. The two started match by poking each other in the eyes. However, the match quickly became aggressive with numerous RKO’s and Attitude Adjustments against each other. The match got so intense at one point that Nick Aldis and several referees had to interfere. However, Randy Orton RKO’ed them all out of the ring. R-Truth then interfered with Randy Orton and got an RKO in return. John Cena capitalized on this and hit a low blow on Randy Orton. He then finished off “The Apex Predator” by hitting him on the face with his belt. Thus, “The Last Real Champion” is still the Champion (via WWE official site).
