Jeff Cobb and His Past Accomplishments Before the WWE

Jeff Cobb has been considered to be one of the best and underrated indie pro wrestlers before he even joined the WWE. He is notably of Filipino descent and lived in Guam before his parents and him relocated to Hawaii. Jeff Cobb had been a former amateur wrestler even before he entered the world of pro wrestling.

Jeff Cobb is best known for portraying Matanza Cueto in the much loved wrestling TV show, Lucha Underground. He has also gone on to wrestle for Pro Wrestling Guerilla (PWG), Progress Wrestling, Ring of Honor (ROH) Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Jeff Cobb has also held several titles in his indie wrestling career. He earned the ROH World Television title. Moreover, he served as a member of the United Empire faction in NJPW under Will Ospreay. Cobb stayed as a faction member even after Will Ospreay left NJPW and joined AEW. He won the IWGP Tag Team titles three times, NEVER Openweight title and NJPW World Television title in his career amongst others. Jeff Cobb finally arrived in the WWE after he announced his apparent retirement after sixteen years as a wrestle on his official X account.

How Jeff Cobb Might Be a Part of the New Bloodline in the WWE?

Jeff Cobb has allied himself with Solo Sikoa after making his WWE debut at Backlash 2025. He viciously attacked LA Knight and helped Jacob Fatu to remain the United States Champion. Cobb might become a member of the Friday Night SmackDown roster for this. He can also become Solo Sikoa’s new enforcer.

This might further increase the dissent among Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa. Jacob Fatu wants to do things on his own and does not like interferences during his matches. He did not like the ending of his match at Backlash. Jacob Fatu moreover considers himself to be a fighting champion despite being a heel presently. However, he is one of the most cheered wrestlers in the WWE, which might bring about a change in his character in the future. He might turn against Solo Sikoa and The New Bloodline and become a babyface in the process. This might result in a feud between Jacob Fatu and Jeff Cobb in the future.

It will be interesting to see Jacob Fatu and Jeff Cobb beating the hell out of each other inside the ring for the United States title. Notably, both of them are absolute powerhouses and brutal inside the ring. However, only time will reveal how the WWE uses Jeff Cobb as the newest member of The New Bloodline.

I’m a sports content writer focusing on MMA, WWE  and MLB writer at The Playoffs. I have a Master’s degree in Media Science (M.Sc) from my college The Heritage Academy. I got into the sports industry through my previous company where I worked from 2023 to March 2025. I’m a fan of combat sports like pro wrestling and MMA. My favorite  part about working at The Playoffs is speculating  what can be happening in WWE, especially face-heel turns and results of matches.
