Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre's rivalry reignites at Backlash 2025.

Drew McIntyre was part of the Fatal Four-Way match with Jacob Fatu, LA Knight, and Damian Priest for the WWE United States Championship at Backlash 2025. The match saw its share of brutality before Jacob Fatu retained his title with the help of Jeff Cobb. Jeff Cobb made his WWE debut today. Solo Sikoa saved Jacob Fatu from losing his title to LA Knight, while Jeff Cobb nearly finished LA Knight, allowing Jacob Fatu to pin him.

No superstars were satisfied with the match’s outcome, not even Jacob Fatu, who appeared more shocked than relieved. LA Knight was dominating Fatu and would have easily won if not for the interventions from Solo Sikoa and Jeff Cobb. The match likely would have ended well before that if Damian Priest hadn’t prevented Drew McIntyre from securing a victory.

What Happened to Drew McIntyre?

Drew had floored LA Knight with a Claymore and was about to get a three-count when Damian pulled the referee out of the ring after the second count. Damian Priest screwed Drew McIntyre yet again and their brawl started outside the ring. The brawl took a wrong turn when their fight shifted towards the production area. Damian Priest delivered a South of Heaven to Drew McIntyre from above the Pedestrian, and both landed on the table.

Drew McIntyre’s head missed the wooden table and hit the concrete floor instead. The injury looked alarming, and the medical team was quick to check on him. The injury looked so devastating that neither Drew nor Damian Priest took part in the match further, and the former was rushed backstage to be examined. Triple H in the post-show press conference revealed that he is a bit banged up but fine and doesn’t require hospitalization.

When Will Drew McIntyre be Back?
