Anthony Joshua made an appearance in Riyadh to watch the bout between Canelo Alvarez and William Scull on May 3, 2025. There, Claudia Trejos of DAZN asked him the reason for being absent from the boxing ring and when he is coming back as per Ring Magazine on X.

Anthony Joshua then revealed that he is trying to get his bosy right. He will be undergoing a small elbow surgery sometime in May. He also revealed that this will be keeping him away from the ring for 6-8 weeks as per the DAZN official site. Only then, he will be able to return to the gym and rebuild himself before he returns to the ring. He also revealed that he will be back when the people want him to come back to the ring as per Ring Magazine on X. The Ring Magazine also posted this on their official Instagram account.
Anthony Joshua’s last boxing bout was against “Dynamite” Daniel Dubois on September 21, 2024. It took place at Wembley Arena in London, England. Daniel Dubois put his IBF World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Anthony Joshua.

The boxing bout between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois lasted for five rounds. Unfortunately, Joshua did not get to be the lucky one in this fight. Daniel Dubois with his aggression and power floored his opponent four times during the fight. He then finished off the fight by knocking out Anthony Joshua in the fifth round and retained his IBF World Heavyweight Championship.
Anthony Joshua’s last boxing bout proved to be a setback for him. However, he can rebound from that loss once he returns to the ring after his elbow surgery. Joshua can then start a new winning career for himself inside the ring.
