Yuki Tsunoda is full of disappointment after his recent stint in Barcelona
One more weekend did not bring any points for Yuki Tsunoda. He is racing out of the top-10 for two weekends consecutively in the F1 triple header. Yuki Tsunoda’s race in Spain left a lot to desire. The Japanese was only able to bring in 13th from Spain for Red Bull.
The Spanish GP was one of the worst weekends of Red Bull Racing. They could only claim one point from the weekend. It severely hurt their standings in the constructors championship. As for Yuki Tsunoda, he has had better weekends in Formula 1. After an issue with the floor took him out of qualifying in Q1, Tsunoda was last on starting grid. He started the race on medium tyres. Tsunoda did manage to overtake some cars but it wasn’t enough to get him ahead of his teammate in 10th.

After the Spanish Grand Prix, Tsunoda is facing a bigger hit to his confidence. He was incredibly confident about his promotion but his past few races have proven opposite. Max Verstappen came to his defence recently but things are looking bleak for Tsunoda.
Once again Yuki Tsunoda had to start his race from pit lane. Red Bull brought changes to his suspension to make the car more competitive. Tsunoda claims he was hoping for a points finish. However, his car was in no better position than 12th throughout the race.

In his Monaco outing, Yuki was stuck behind a traffic of cars. And the track being restrictive, he couldn’t overtake drivers ahead of him to gather points. Barcelona on the other hand left him hungry for more pace from the car.
“We were trying out different things with the set-up; it didn’t do much in the end today, but we have an idea on how to hopefully improve this in Canada. We are not where we want to be, but we will keep working as a team and aim to remain consistent across a weekend.”
In his seven races with Red Bull Racing, Yuki Tsunoda has three points finishes. His highest finish with Red Bull is only ninth. Meanwhile, his teammate is fighting for wins and podium. On the other hand, his junior at Racing Bulls is on success spree with numerous points.
I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university's Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
