Ilia Topuria’s next fight is scheduled for UFC 317 on June 28, 2025 during the UFC International Fight Week. More recently, Dana White appeared at the UFC 315 pre-fight news conference on Thursday. He was asked to confirm Ilia Topuria’s claims. He replied (via MMA Pros Pick on Instagram)-
“Yeah, there’s a lot of moving parts right now and yeah, that’s pretty accurate”.
Notably, if Jack Della Maddalena wins the fight at UFC 315, then Islam Makhachev would probably move to the Welterweight division to challenge for a title fight. That would leave Charles Oliveira as Ilia Topuria’s opponent at UFC 317 as per reports.
Belal Muhammad winning the fight will cause Ilia Topuria to fight Islam Makhachev at Lightweight division at UFC 317. However, Makhachev has earlier stated that he wants Ilia Topuria to prove himself first at Lightweight division before they fight.
Ilia Topuria last fought at UFC 308 on October 26, 2024 as the reigning UFC Feathwerweight Champion. He defended his title for the first time against Max “Blessed” Holloway in this fight. Both fighters started their fight slow but quickly started showering their aggression inside the Octagon. Max Holloway took down Ilia Topuria down twice. However, Ilia Topuria finally took down Max Holloway via KO/TKO through a punch to his opponent’s head at distance in Round 3 of the fight as per the UFC official site.
