‘Belal Is Going To Suffocate Him’ – Future Welterweight Title Contender Back Belal Muhammad To Run Over Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315

Eric D

UFC 315 is almost here, and for the main event we’ll have Belal Muhammad face Jack Della Maddalena for the welterweight title. Maddalena is going to fight for a UFC title for the first time in his career, as he has a MMA record of 17-2-0. He hasn’t lost a fight yet in his UFC career, and is a flawless 7-0-0 so far. However, Belal Muhammad will arguably be the most challenging fighter he’s ever fought, and the odds aren’t in his favor for now.

Meanwhile, Belal Muhammad hasn’t fought since July of 2024, and will be appearing in his first title defense fight, ever since he was crowned the welterweight champion, after beating Leon Edwards via unanimous decision. The UFC 315 headliner was originally supposed to be Belal Muhammad taking on Shavkat Rakhmonov, who ranks second in the welterweight division, but Rakhmonov unexpectedly went down with an injury, and Jack Della Maddalena was named as the replacement.

The welterweight champ previously stated that he is supremely confident about his chances against Maddalena, and has even vowed that he will now be leaving Montreal without the belt. Muhammad also thinks that he is a far superior fighter, and can beat Maddalena in multiple ways. Now, a future welterweight title contender has also backed up Muhammad and his claims, as he believes that the champ is going to finish Maddalena in fourth or the fifth round. Let’s find out who that is.

Ian Garry Believes That Belal Muhammad Is the Far Superior Fighter Going Into UFC 315

Future welterweight title contender, and named as the official replacement for the Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena, Ian Garry is leaning more towards Belal Muhammad winning the bout at UFC 315 and here is why;

“Belal’s best attributes are where Jack is at his weakest, should we say. So the fight for Belal makes a lot more sense than it does for Jack.” Ian Garry continued, “I believe Jack going to have to keep it on the feet, try to stop him getting close, use his jab, use his footwork. But Belal doesn’t allow that. Belal gets in your face, gets in your grill, switches stance and throws the jab, switches and throws, sometimes get under you, dumps you and stays on top.”

“I have seen nothing from Jack Della Maddalena over the last couple of years that shows that he’s been able to deal with that at the highest level, and Belal is the best at doing that. I think Belal is going to suffocate him and I genuinely think he’s going to finish him in fourth or fifth round.”

While a lot of fighters, fans, and analysts, are predicting for Maddalena to go down, we cannot count him out just yet, and let us just wait for the fight to see who is the superior fighter between the two.
