Key Injuries, Predicted Lineups & Match Preview for the Crucial Premier League match on April 13.
Manchester United are set to shift their focus back to the Premier League briefly on Sunday when they visit a high-flying Newcastle United at St James’ Park. The Red Devils, currently sitting in 13th position in the league table, continue to stumble domestically. Meanwhile, Newcastle have surged into the Champions League conversation in recent times.
Mainly after an impressive run of four straight wins across all competitions. That stretch includes their historic EFL Cup win over Liverpool. It also includes their convincing league performances against Brentford and Leicester City. The Magpies are now in sixth position in the table.

With that, they are firmly in contention for a top-four finish. They could also qualify for next season’s Champions League after the Premier League was granted an additional berth. They also have recent odds in their favour for this fixture with Newcastle dominating recent meetings with United.
The Magpies have won four of their last five games. They are chasing a first league double over the Red Devils since 1931. Meanwhile, Amorim’s side are winless in their last three matches and continue to rely on the Europa League as their best chance for continental football next season.
Newcastle will be without defenders Sven Botman, and Jamaal Lascelles due to knee issues, Lewis Hall because of a foot injury and midfielder Joe Willock because of a concussion. The coach will take a late decision on Anthony Gordon, who is yet to recover from a groin problem.
Even with their recent injury concerns, striker Alexander Isak is expected to start even though he was substituted at a later stage in their last two matches. Eddie Howe’s side will look to continue their momentum with a relatively stable lineup, hoping their ongoing fitness concerns don’t affect their performance.

Man United remain without Amad Diallo, Jonny Evans, Toby Collyer, Ayden Heaven, and Lisandro Martinez owing to various injuries. Matthijs de Ligt will also miss out again as he is yet to recover from a knock that he sustained earlier this month.
With the second leg against Lyon looming, manager Ruben Amorim could heavily rotate the squad. Joshua Zirkzee, Mason Mount, and Victor Lindelof are pushing for starts. Whereas, under-fire goalkeeper Andre Onana may be rested in favour of Altay Bayindir for his league debut.
