The Egyptian Forward Delivers Record-Breaking Performance To Guide Liverpool Closer to the Premier League Title Following Contract Extension.
Mohamed Salah needed just 18 minutes to show Liverpool exactly why they fought to secure his future. He delivered a masterclass performance in their 2-1 win against West Ham today, only days after he penned a two-year contract extension with them.
Salah’s exquisite assist for Luis Diaz in the first half certainly set Diaz for Liverpool’s gritty win at home. More importantly, it also cemented his name in Premier League history. The pass took his total goal involvements in the 2024–25 season to 45 (27 goals and 18 assists).

That is a record amount for a 38-game campaign. That figure surpassed both Thierry Henry’s 2002–03 tally and Erling Haaland’s total from two seasons ago. With that, Salah now stands 15 clear of any other player in Europe’s top five leagues this term.
Salah very recently ended months of speculation by signing a contract extension that ties him to the Reds until the summer of 2027. It was a major boost for Liverpool, especially with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk’s future still uncertain. TAA is reportedly on his way to Real Madrid this summer.
Fans made their appreciation clear during the match, chanting “Mo Salah, Mo Salah, running down the wing.” When asked about the title race, Salah told Sky Sports: “When we won it we won it in lockdown. So let’s go for it and win it.” He added: “I’m glad that we managed to do it before the end of the season and hopefully Virgil soon will be nice.”
