Every player in the NFL wants to win the Super Bowl trophy and be some of the greatest players to play in the NFL. That is most certainly a dream that every players comes in with to the league. However, players also need to get paid for the level at which they’re producing. It is not easy to play in the NFL as it requires players to be constantly in shape, being on top of their game in their respective positions, and help their teams achieve a lot of success by winning regular season and postseason games.
There is a growing trend in the NFL where various teams across the league keep their star players constantly waiting, for them to get resigned by their team. While we understand that the NFL and every other league in the world is a business at the end of the day, we also need to prioritize the players who are the main and the actual products of the NFL. Without these players, the NFL wouldn’t be where it is today.
Constantly waiting to resign a player can affect him mentally and his production could also be hampered on the field. So various owners across the league should commit to their star players more and give them their contracts at the right time instead of delaying it.

Former DE, J.J. Watt does not like the fact that teams are waiting all the way, to re-sign their star players. Watt tweeted “Reward your players earlier, reap the benefits in the long run.” Watt further added “Dragging it out not only ends up costing more, it creates unnecessary tension.”
“The longer you wait, the higher the price.”
The Bengals took a lot of time resigning Tee Higgins before they franchise tagged him yet again. Their unwillingness to give Higgins a long-term contract, could be a move that’ll come to bite them in the near future. The Bengals also need to resign their WR1 Ja’Marr Chase who is on the final year of his contract. If they wait for too long in the next offseason, almost all the other teams will be interested in taking Chase and Higgins away from the Bengals.

The Cowboys and Jerry Jones are in a similar situation too. Micah Parsons is on the final year of his contract and now that Myles Garrett has set a new bar with his $160 million deal with the Browns, Parsons could be looking at a huge contract coming his way.

Jones needs to pay Parsons if he wants to keep him on the Cowboys’ squad. We already know about the kind of money that Jones has paid to CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott, and we’re quite sure what Parsons would be expecting from him too.
We now know that if the teams wait more, it’ll cost them a lot more later. So it is in everyone’s best interest if a player gets resigned at the earliest.
