DeAndre Hopkins has now joined forces with the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year deal according to NFL Insider, Adam Schefter. He was drafted by the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft, where he played for seven seasons and then after, had some brief stints with various teams such as the Cardinals (2020-2022), Titans (2023-2024), and the Chiefs (2024).
Hopkins may not be in his prime anymore but he can still contribute towards a team. After having amazing seasons with the Texans and the Cardinals, he is still looking for his rhythm. In 2023, Hopkins showed flashes of his older self but wasn’t the same the following season. In 2024, Hopkins initially was playing for the Titans, but was traded to the Chiefs midway through the season. He finished the year with 610 receiving yards, 5 receiving touchdowns, 56 receptions, while only starting in 8 games (career low).

There are a couple of reasons why Hopkins may have been traded. The biggest reason amongst all seems to be his age and decline in production. Once a great player, Hopkins is now 32 years of age and hasn’t been the same in the recent years, in terms of his production.
When the Chiefs added Hopkins to their roster, it was primarily because their receivers were swarmed with injuries. Rashee Rice, the Chiefs WR1, tore his ACL and their No.2 receiver, Hollywood Brown, was also injured. That may not be a problem as their receivers are expected to fully recover by the time next season comes around.
Hopkins signed a one-year $5 million (that could get up to $6 million) deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
The Ravens finished the season with a 12-5 record but ended up losing to the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs. Adding Hopkins, to an already sizzling offense, could help them reach deeper into the playoffs and finally reach the Super Bowl.
