Oliver Bearman talks about the Spanish GP holdup between him and Max Verstappen

The Spanish GP 2025 is going to be one of the best races of the 2025 season. It was completely chaotic from the start to the end. There were a numerous changes in the racing order. The teams were busy trying out various strategies to get ahead of the competition. Although, there were also some worrying incidents during the race.

Max Verstappen drove into George Russell’s car out of frustration. He went from fighting for the win to gaining merely one point from the weekend. Elsewhere, Max also had to face frustration from the backmarkers. When he was trying to make a move on Lando Norris while lapping the backmarkers, Verstappen got held up. He threw a hand of frustration from the cockpit for Oliver Bearman who the driver in his way.

Oliver Bearman Apologises for Causing Trouble

The battle for position between Oliver Bearman and Liam Lawson was immense. The two drivers were fighting tooth and nail for points. Each one of them was desperate to claim points after early disappointments of the season.

But amidst their chaos, they ignored the blue flags being waved their way. Both Bearman and Lawson could not afford to give up the racing line for the race leaders behind them. Bearman ultimately got a penalty for his antics while racing Lawson. However, he did not intend to frustrate the four-time world champion more.

Oliver Bearman issued a prompt apology to Max for the holdup he caused last weekend-

“But, I am sorry if I did anything bad to him. It’s tough to manage everything that’s going on in the race, and he just went on my inside. I wasn’t trying to do anything bad, of course, but I’m sorry if I held him up.”

Oliver Bearman did not claim the best weekend in his Haas during the Spanish GP. After a few points early on in the season, he is off the pace. Bearman will be trying to get his bearings straight during the Canadian GP and regain momentum for his team.

The rookies of 2025 season have a special bond with Max Verstappen. The Dutchman’s success has appealed to them. Every weekend, any of the six rookies of the current F1 season can be seen taking tips from the four-time champion. Thus, it is no wonder that Bearman did not want to cause a possible strain on his relationship with Max Verstappen.
