The pressure of delivering at Red Bull is clouding around Yuki Tsunoda after Canada

Once again, Yuki Tsunoda had a miserable weekend in Red Bull. The recent performances by the Japanese driver are letting him and his team down. Yuki Tsunoda brought in another out of points finish for Red Bull Racing in Montreal. This time, he could only manage a P12 starting from the back of the grid.

The Canadian Grand Prix was simply disastrous for the Japanese Red Bull driver. At first, he had to go through a 10-place grid penalty for the race. Tsunoda ended up impending red flag conditions in Free Practice 3 earning rebuke from the stewards. Once again, Tsunoda was left fending for himself and overtaking the traffic. Meanwhile, his teammate was trying to get himself yet another win in the 2025 championship.

Yuki Tsunoda Admits that He is Feeling the Pressure at Red Bull Racing

After being unable to score points once again, it looks like Yuki Tsunoda is facing a huge drop of confidence. After all, his junior in the Racing Bulls is consistently proving much faster than him. Even Yuki Tsunoda was far better in his previous team compared to Red Bull Racing.

Red Bull might have given him the entire 2025 season to prove himself. But, so far its not going in favor of the Japanese driver. Yuki has gone for three weekends without a points finish, often starting at the back of the grid.

Talking about his race, Yuki says

“The pace was okay, not amazing but still not too bad. Other than that, pretty much that’s it really. At least positive is the car performance now, and the pace in the car felt a bit more normal or better than last previous races, so at least there’s a bit of motivation there.”

Yuki Tsunoda was particularly frustrated about his grid penalty, which according to him was “stupid”. His car was running new upgrades for the weekend. However, lack of time in free practice sessions did not let him understand the car properly.

Earlier on, Tsunoda claimed that he would easily adapt to the pressure in Red Bull Racing. This time around, the Japanese driver is finally realising that he does not exactly like this pressure. Nevertheless, with Red Bull and Honda parting ways, Tsunoda’s only hope is the 2025 season will go in his favor. And his results so far, are spinning a tragic narrative for him at the end of the season.
