WWE Survivor Series 2024 Results: Shinsuke Nakamura the new United States Champion, Gunther retains, the OG Bloodline and CM Punk beat Bloodline 2.0

2024 WWE Survivor Series: WarGames saw the OG Bloodline defeat the Bloodline 2.0 as tension brewed between the OTC and CM Punk!

2024 WWE Survivor Series: WarGames has just ended and we saw some brutal matches testing the superstars physically and mentally. While most of the superstars were able to defend their titles, a few lost theirs in the process. WWE now has some new storylines for future events and kept some old stories intact.

This year’s Survivor Series followed a five-match pattern, two of which were Women’s and Men’s WarGames, two single title shots, and a triple threat for the Intercontinental title. The star-studded event resolved old rivalries but, we now have some new disputes that will take time to end.

Women’s WarGames

Bianca Belair won the WarGames advantage match against Nia Jax. Bayley entered the ring first followed by Nia Jax and members from both sides exchanged some fierce moves. From chair shots to headbutts to over-the-ring moonsault, the match had it all. The superstars from both sides used weapons like Candosticks, chairs, trash cans, and tables to their advantage. The match seemed evenly poised before Rhea performed Riptide on Liv through the table from the third rope to pin her.

Match Rating: 7 out of 10

Iyo Sky is the #1 contender for Liv’s title but the rivalry between Rhea and Liv looks far from over. We will see them lock horns again soon in the near future.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. LA Knight

LA Knight was not at his 100% from the very beginning of the match. It seemed Nakamura was able to get under his skin. We saw a brief period where he was dominating Nakamura, however, Nakamura managed to sneak an advantage throughout the match. The match ended when Nakamura performed a neck breaker on the exposed metal joining the ring and following up with Kinshasa. Nakamura became the United States Championship for the third time.

Match Rating: 5 out of 10

LA Knight will now have to redeem himself so we will see these superstars at each other’s throats very soon.

Bron Breakker vs. Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser

The triple threat match for the intercontinental title was one of the most physical matches of the Survivor Series. All three superstars give it their all. The match was a testament to the speed of Bron Breakker, the strength of Sheamus, and the wit of Ludwig. Sheamus tested the Intercontinental Champion to the edge.

Both superstars were not ready to give in until Bron missed a spear and hit the chair on the side turnbuckle and Sheamus followed it up with a Brogue Kick. He was inches close to the victory when Kaiser pulled the referee out. He then launched a brutal assault on Sheamus until the speed of Bron got in his way or should I say, he was struck by the thunderbolt of a spear from Bron to win the match and retain his titles.

Match Rating: 8.5 out of 10

We will see a rivalry between Sheamus and Ludwig as the latter has cost Sheamus the Intercontinental Championship opportunity twice now.

Gunther vs. Damian Priest

If it was not for Finn Balor’s Coup De Grace to Damian Priest, we would have had a new Heavyweight Champion, however, it was not to be. Damian was able to pick a nerve on Gunther and he dominated the match in its initial phase before he injured his shoulder and Gunther got a clear target. Even with the injured shoulder, Damian was able to give a proper fight to the Heavyweight Champion.

An interruption from Finn helped Gunther to put Priest in a sleeper hold to win the match. The rivalry between Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Terror Twin’s Damian resumes after the former cost him the Heavyweight Championship second straight time.

Match Rating: 8 out of 10

The OG Bloodline vs Bloodline 2.0

The long-standing bloodline brawl has finally ended with Roman Reigns on top. The match started with Tama Tonga entering the ring followed by Jey Uso. Both went to war against each other from the get-go. Bronson Reeds’ entry to the ring tilted the match towards Bloodline 2.0 until Roman Reigns entered and shifted the momentum towards the OG Bloodline for some time.

All the superstars put their bodies on the line. Chair shots were exchanged, and tables were broken. We saw Jimmy and Jey working as a team like before after a long time. The match was dominated by Bloodline 2.0 owing to the strength of Jacob Fatu and Bronson Reed. Reed tried the Tsunami from above the ring on Roman Reigns whose lifeless body was on the table however the “Best in the World” CM Punk made the save.

Once Reed went throw the table and Jimmy landed Uso Splash on Jacob Fatu throw the table, it was all but over for Bloodline 2.0. We saw two Superkicks delivered to Solo by Jimmy and Jey followed by a dual superkick. Zayn followed and performed his Helluva Kick on Solo soon after. CM Punk gave a “Go to Sleep” and The OTC Roman followed it up with a Spear to pin Solo and win the match.

Match Rating: 7.5 out of 10

WWE is yet to reveal the favor that Paul Heyman owes on CM Punk and the Best in the World will ask for it sooner rather than later!
