Eager to fulfil his long-standing ambition of playing in Europe, Arias had been pushing for the move to Wolves.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Colombia international Jhon Arias from Fluminense in a deal that could rise to £19 million. The 27-year-old arrives at Molineux after a standout year with Fluminense, where he became a club icon by helping them win their first-ever Copa Libertadores title in 2023 against Boca Juniors, as well as the Recopa Sudamericana.
His performances in the recently concluded 2025 Club World Cup further elevated his reputation. The transfer agreement includes a 10% sell-on clause for Fluminense which will ensure that they benefit from any future transfer profits.

The Colombian played a decisive role in Fluminense’s World Cup campaign and earned three Man of the Match awards. His most influental display at the Club World Cup came against Inter Milan as Fluminese defeated the Italian giants 2-0 in the quarterfinals. His efforts helped Fluminense reach the semi-finals, where they were defeated 2-0 by Chelsea.
Eager to fulfil his long-standing ambition of playing in Europe, Arias had been pushing for the move to Wolves. The Colombian international will become Wolves’ second significant attacking addition of the summer, following the €21m capture of winger Fer Lopez from Celta Vigo. Head coach Vitor Pereira had made bolstering his attacking options a clear priority, and Wolves have now answered that call with Arias being handed the No.10 shirt.
Arias arrives at Molineux with a strong resume. The 27-year-old has earned 31 caps for Colombia. During his successful spell at Fluminense, Arias made 229 appearances, scoring 47 goals and providing 55 assists across all competitions. His arrival is expected to bring further creativity and depth to Wolves’ wide options as they aim to build on last season’s 16th place finish and push further up the Premier League table.
