Coach Ruben Amorim Leaves Behind ‘Bomb Squad’ Left Amid Transfer Uncertainty.
Manchester United are set to begin a new era under Ruben Amorim. For that, they have taken a decision with the Portuguese manager omitting Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho from the club’s pre-season squad traveling to the United States.
The decision has been widely viewed as the clearest indication yet that the trio, along with Tyrell Malacia, are not part of Amorim’s future plans. The quartet have been dubbed as United’s ‘bomb squad’ by many and has been left behind for now.

Harry Maguire also not with the team but only due to personal reasons, he will be back soon.

In the midst of it, the Red Devils are preparing to face West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton during their stateside tour. Marcus Rashford, once considered part of the group, has joined Barcelona on loan with a €30 million buy option. Obviously, he was not included either.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X that the four players have been placed on the transfer list. He said, “Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia all left OUT of Manchester United squad for pre-season tour… Sancho, Garnacho, Antony and Malacia all up for sale.”

Despite their talent and reputations, none of the excluded players have drawn firm offers yet. Man United are hopeful that lowering their initial demands will spark interest. The club is also wary of being stuck with high-earning players unwilling to feature.
This would further complicate dressing room dynamics. United have so far spent close to €150 million on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. These two are Premier League-proven signings who were high on Amorim’s priority list.

Now further arrivals hinge on selling surplus players. The decision to omit Garnacho and Antony, who were once viewed as part of the club’s long-term project shows that Man United are willing to incur financial losses in order to reset the squad.
Reports suggest that the Red Devils are prepared to accept cut-price deals for all four outcasts. Meanwhile, Andre Onana, currently injured, has still traveled with the squad. Harry Maguire had also been omitted from the squad but his absence was clarified as due to personal reasons and not transfer-related.
