Candace Parker Refuses to Compare Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese

WNBA royalty Candace Parker was asked about the comparison between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. Parker was speaking on Jemele Hill’s Spolitics podcast and she called this rivalry a comparison between apples and oranges.

“It’s like comparing apples and oranges,” Parker talked to Jemele Hill on Spolitics podcast. “What are we doing? They like do Magic [Johnson] and [Larry] Bird comparisons. … I’m not falling into that.

Candace Parker also suggested Angel Reese to improve her game. Chicago Sky are struggling in the ongoing season as they posted a 2-5 record through first 7 games. Reese was on the losing side against the Indiana Fever in two games. In previous game, Clark was unavailable due to injury but she tried to mock Angel Reese from the bench.

I think there are a number of things that Angel Reese can improve on,” Parker continued. “The thing about Caitlin, yes, she can shoot from the logo, but she makes her team better.”

There is a difference between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese which was seen in their first season in the WNBA. Clark, the 2024 Rookie of the Year, propelled the Indiana Fever to the playoffs after an eight-year absence last season. However, the Fever lost to the Connecticut Sun in the opening round. She averaged 19.2 points in her first season in the league. Clark is also averaging 19 points this season across four games.

On the other hand, Angel Reese missed out the Rookie of the Year award last season but dropped crazy numbers in her debut season. He racked up a historical number of double-doubles and averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds. In current season, the Sky guard is averaging 9.1 points and 12.3 rebounds over seven games. However, her team is struggling with five defeats, including two against Fever.
