Tom Aspinall has been waiting for his fight against Jon Jones for a long time in the UFC. He has called out his opponent several times but has not received any kind of response from Jon “Bones” Jones.

Dana White, more recently, had expressed his optimism about the Aspinall and Jones fight happening in 2025. However, Tom Aspinall has become frustrated and bored with waiting for the eventual fight. Tom Aspinall Feels Jon Jones Will Not Agree to the Fight Without Good Monetary Compensation

Tom Aspinall has hinted that money issue might be an underlying factor in his fight against Jon Jones as per reports. He revealed on the High Performance podcast that – 

“Jon doesn’t want to take the risk at the moment. I have a meeting tonight about it, so I’ll find out what happens tonight. I think it’s down to money, on his side”. 

Fight Basics has posted Tom Aspinall’s latest comments on their official Instagram post. Tom Aspinall has further revealed that everything depends on Jon Jones. He personally can’t do anything. However, he is open to fighting Jon Jones anywhere and whenever he wants to as per reports. 

When did Both Tom Aspinall and Jon Jones Fight Last In the UFC?

Tom Aspinall has stayed away from inside the Octagon for quite some time. Jon Jones compared to him, has been away from the Octagon for a lesser amount of time. Tom Aspinall last fought on July 27, 2024, successfully defeated Curtis Blaydes by knocking him out with a punch and retained his interim heavyweight title. He also called out Jon Jones in this fight.

Jon Jones however, had his last UFC fight on November 16, 2024. He successfully made Stipe Miocic submit through a Guillotine Choke at the event. Hence he remained the  Heavyweight title holder. Tom Aspinall was also notably, a backup fighter in this fight. 

Tom Aspinall and Jon Jones’ bout will be all about the unification of the Heavyweight title. UFC fans can only hope that the fight happens this year as Dana White has said.
