The Last Time is Now tournament has picked up pace, as we have found six wrestlers to enter the second round of the tournament. The last wrestler to join Rusev, Sheamus, Jey Uso, LA Knight, and Solo Sikoa is none other than The Ring General, Gunther. Gunther defeated NXT’s Je’Von Evans on Monday Night Raw to enter the next phase of the tournament.
The brutal dominance of the former World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther, was challenged by high-speed, high-flying offence coupled with the sheer resilience of a 21-year-old Je’Von Evans. While Gunther has made his name on Monday Night Raw, his opponent is an NXT superstar in the making.

Gunther asserted his dominance over Je’Von Evans the moment the bell rang, delivering thunderous chops that sent the NXT star reeling. Je’Von Evans, however, refused to be intimidated by the sheer brutality of the Ring General and showcased his immense talent inside the ring. His speed and never-say-never attitude, along with his lightning-fast offences, stunned Gunther many times during the match.

The crowd was behind Je’Von Evans for most of the match as he continued to land high-risk maneuvers, including Suicide Dives and Top-Rope Splash. He came agonizingly close to pulling up the biggest upset of his career, but it was not meant to be.

Gunther’s power ultimately proved too much for the young talent. He weathered the flurry of moves from Je’Von Evans and violently halted his momentum with a Powerbomb. He then locked him in his signature Sleeper Hold. Je’Von Evans attempted to break free from the Submission Hold but was unsuccessful, ultimately tapping out to allow Gunther to secure a win on his comeback.
