Bayern Munich’s opening offer of €40 million plus €5m in bonuses for Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade has been swiftly rejected. According to BILD, Stuttgart have made it clear that they will only consider negotiations if Bayern meet their €65m (£55m/$74m) valuation. The talks so far have involved multiple discussions and a virtual meeting between Bayern executives Max Eberl and Jan-Christian Dreesen and Stuttgart’s Fabian Wohlgemuth and Alexander Wehrle.

Despite having reached personal terms with the player, Bayern face a firm stance from Stuttgart. Woltemade, whose contract runs until 2028 without a release clause, is viewed as a cornerstone of Stuttgart’s project after an impressive season where he scored 17 goals.

Stuttgart’s sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth reaffirmed the club’s position:
“It is absolutely the most likely scenario that Nick will wear our colors in the 2025-26 season. He is still a Stuttgart player, and we assume that nothing will change in that regard for the coming year.”

However, with Bayern identifying Woltemade as a key long-term attacking option, and the striker believed to be open to the move, pressure may mount on Stuttgart if the Bavarians return with an improved offer this week. Whether Bayern meet the €65m asking price or pivot to alternative targets remains to be seen, but all eyes are now on the next phase of this high-stakes transfer saga.
