Ashish Negi

The entire wrestling world was on its feet when Solo Sikoa’s opponent was revealed for The Last Time is Now tournament at Madison Square Garden. The tournament set to reveal John Cena’s opponent in his last match in WWE saw the return of Zack Ryder on SmackDown and Dolph Ziggler tonight. The jaw-dropping return was surprising not only for fans but also for his opponent, Solo Sikoa.

Dolph Ziggler’s entry to the arena was so electric that it could have blown the roof of Madison Square Garden. This marked his first entry into the WWE ring after two years. He is the second wrestler, after Zack Ryder, to make his return to WWE since the The Last Time is Now tournament began.

Dolph Ziggler’s One Night Dream Ends Against Solo Sikoa

Tonight’s match was more than a singles match; it was an opportunity for Dolph Ziggler to prove against WWE’s most ruthless rising star. The clash between styles and generations began with a blistering pace as Ziggler showcased a masterpiece of speed and technical moves on Solo Sikoa. What made it extra special was the crowd cheering his every move, whether it was Spike DDT or his signature Blonde Ambition.

Dolph Ziggler then put Solo Sikoa into an STF; however, the latter got hold of the bottom rope, and the Showoff had to break the hold. There was a furious exchange of finishers between the two, where Dolph Ziggler landed a picture-perfect Zig Zag, but Solo Sikoa managed to kick out before the count. Solo Sikoa landed a Samoan Spike to end the veteran’s one-night dream.

Solo Sikoa advances ahead in the tournament with this victory, joining Gunther, Sheamus, Jey Uso, Rusev, and LA Knight. Dolph Ziggler’s dream of facing John Cena one last time ended with his loss. He left the ring to a standing ovation from the crowd.
