Bahrain Grand Prix made sure to show us some interesting developments today! Read ahead to know more about the race.
The Bahrain Grand Prix 2025 was basically meme reincarnate. Never in a hundred years would someone think, that a race as amazing and important as Bahrain would end up giving us insomnia from lack of racing action. Bahrain has been a season opener in Formula 1 as one of the best season openers to date. Yet, in 2025, Bahrain claimed inspiration from Suzuka and decided it was time to step back and relax.

Overheating? No, this year all cars get to finish the race. Tyre degradation? George Russell says that your tyres cannot legally degrade without your permission. Even Ferrari managed to get competitive for the first time. On paper, Bahrain GP Results will tell you that the race incredibly well done.
For the first time in 2025 season, Red Bull Racing has claimed double points finish. Haas have secured yet another double points finish. This weekend, even Alpine decided to lock horns with Red Bull and would have succeeded if not for Max Verstappen’s racing talents.
This time, F1 did not witness any duel in the desert. All they witnessed was- stewards busy rebuking drivers like children in kindergarten. So, without further ado, let us go through the biggest highlights of the Bahrain Grand Prix 2025!
F1 fans were ready to witness the shining jewel in the desert. The entire community was awaiting an exciting race with a lot of action under the lights. Yet, what they got the prime application of Murphy’s Law. Technical errors, drivers deciding to race outside the track limits, weird glitches during the stream. Yes, Bahrain had it all today. It won’t be a exaggeration to say that Bahrain GP made us realise the value of competition among the teams.
We shall focus on the three staggering topics that plagued the race today-
If Red Bull randomly chooses a day for ruining the life of their current champion, Bahrain would be the best candidate. Max Verstappen was completely distraught this weekend. He was fast, faster than what the catastrophe he is driving could achieve. But, nothing could prepare him for what about to come.

Red Bull is usually known for being fastest at the pitstops. Yet, Red Bull couldn’t deliver on Max Verstappen’s pitstops.
What awaited them later, was the wrath of fans. The Red Bull Racing followers were completely unimpressed. As for the Orange army? Let’s just say they have seen better days. The fans of Red Bull and Max have two moods today- spending their entire frustration through their tweets or just making parodies about Max Verstappen leaving the team.

Unfortunately, none of the two options are viable. Red Bull needs to up their game now- especially after that wake up call from Lando Norris.
George Russell is a fairly successful driver in Formula 1. He has won races and collected podiums. Russell is performing really well with the machinery he has been provided with. Russell has already claimed two podiums this season before the Bahrain GP. But, just as viewers were relishing his defence against Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc, the F1 stream decided to create some headlines.

Spectators nearly got a heart attack as they saw Russell drop down the order for the first time. (Many had to check the multi-viewer for his live race footage as soon as it happened). Yet, George was readily racing without any sign of retirement of issues. Even the F1 commentators were shocked. Crofty joked about the fact that maybe the stewards need to keep six stopwatches to assure the accuracy of George Russell’s lap times.

This is the image of George Russell having his DRS open when he was NOT within 1 second of any car ❌
Could this be a 5 second penalty⁉️
He will be fourth if so ☹️😩 pic.twitter.com/lKKuDaPOJX
It turns out that, Russell’s in car transponder decided to sleep like most of us because the race was too boring. As a results, George Russell was basically flung around the leaderboard graphics like a Mercedes frisbee. To make matters worse, his DRS opened mid-race to give him another headache about an incoming penalty. Fortunately, Russell did not receive and penalty or demotion.
If you had dollar for all the penalties handed out this weekend- you would have eight dollars. Now, that’s not a lot but weird that it happened eight times. It all started with the Silver Arrows receiving a grid drop each for infringing Qualifying restart timing violations. They impatience to start the cars ahead of FIA’s orders inspired Lando Norris maybe.

It's all over for Carlos Sainz ❌

Norris jumpstarted the grid receiving five-second penalty for his actions. He was discovered and reported by Max Verstappen. Next up was, Lawson with a 5s time penalty. He was provided with this prize for causing a collision with Stroll. Carlos Sainz was also rebuked with a 10s penalty, but he straight up retired, so jokes on the stewards.
Nico Hulkenberg might feel better after Lawson gained another 10s penalty for causing a collision with Hulk. Lawson’s bad luck is not leaving him after his Red Bull stint. Doohan ended taking a five-second penalty for tracks limits at the checkered flag. Isack Hajdar and Kimi Antonelli were among the drivers getting warned for the track limits.

nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
