Nico Hulkenberg was managed by Willi Weber in his early days of racing. Weber was the longtime manager of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher. He was confident about Nico Hulkenberg and his talents. It was Weber who gave Hulkenberg his nickname of “The Hulk”, quoting his aggressive personality behind the wheel. According to Weber, Nico Hulkenberg was an unbelievable talent who was similar to Michael Schumacher. He predicted that Hulk would be ready to race in Formula 1 by 2008.

Nico Hulkenberg started karting in 1997 winning the German Kart Championship in 2003. By 2005, he made his debut in Formula BMW series. Nico Hulkenberg singlehandedly won Team Germany the championship. He beat Team New Zealand by 35 points claiming 128 points with nine wins in the season. He became the most successful driver in the history of A1 Grand Prix championships due to his exploits with Team Germany.

In upcoming years he started making moves in the Formula 2 and Formula 3 series. Nico Hulkenberg was hunting down and claiming victories ahead of drivers without breaking a sweat.
