Max Verstappen's kind gesture touched Nico Hulkenberg post-race
Nico Hulkenberg and his P3 finish at Silverstone turned the British Grand Prix into a mini festival in the paddock. The whole grid was elated to watch the driver claim his first podium in Formula 1 career. His drive to P3 was equally amazing as the Hulk was starting the race from P19. The entire Formula 1 community is happy for Hulkenberg’s first podium finish in Formula 1.
After the race, almost every driver mentioned Nico Hulkenberg in their post-race interview congratulating them. However, there’s one driver who appealed the most to Nico Hulkenberg. Max Verstappen drove up next to Nico Hulkenberg during the in-lap and celebrated his P3 with a lot of excitement. Max was seen raising and waving his fist in air driving alongside the Hulk to commemorate his podium finish.
Max Verstappen was starting the race from pole position during the British Grand Prix. Little did he know that he would end up losing places drastically in the race. At one point Max was still running for a podium finish. However, during the safety car restart, once again Max spun out his car and tumbled down the order. He went from podium to eighth giving the drivers behind him a chance to fight for podium.
At first it was Lance Stroll, but Hulkenberg made quick work him within a few corners and started fending off Lewis Hamilton for his coveted podium finish. Even though, Max Verstappen’s weekend was entirely ruined and it was Hulkenberg who succeeded his podium, Max was not at all harsh about it.

Oscar Piastri was among the first people to congratulate the Hulk over the radio. Although, his words were rather dry due to the penalty giving him frustration.
On the other hand, Max Verstappen chose to forget his own troubles celebrate with his longtime friend and fellow driver Nico Hulkenberg with no holds barred. The gesture touched Nico Hulkenberg, who applauded Max for his behaviour and talked about the respect they share for each other.
nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
