There, he was asked about what his views were about Joaquin Buckley, who was also present there earlier. He replied that Joaquin Buckley is an absolute coward. Morever, Machado Garry stated he does not care for anything that Buckley has to say. Notably, this was not the first time that Ian Machado Garry has criticized Joquin Buckley. He did the same thing during an interview with Full Send MMA on August 24, 2025 in their YouTube channel. There, he roasted Carlos Prates, Joaquin Buckley and Sean Brady. Regarding Joaquin Buckley, Ian Machado Garry criticized his promotional skills, stating that no one cares about him as he barely speaks English.

Ian Machado Garry has already confirmed that he will be a back-up fighter at UFC 315 on May 10, 2025. This will be the for the main event between Belal Muhammad vs Jack Della Maddalena for the UFC Welterweight title. Ian Machado Garry will fight one of them as a back-up in case something happens to the other in the main event. He revealed that he expects Belal Muhammad to retain the title against Jack Della Maddalena if the title fight happens.

However “The Future” has made it clear that he has a 3-fight plan of his own in the UFC. Firstly, he wants a fight against Belal Muhammad and win the Welterweight title. Secondly, he wants to fight and defeat Islam Makhachev, the #1 pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC in his first title defense. Lastly, he wants a rematch against Shavkat Rakhmonov, the only fighter who has defeated him.
