“He’ll be Fine”- Yuki Tsunoda Earns Praise from Red Bull for His Performance!

Rohan Singh

Is Red Bull Racing finally satisfied with their second driver? Know more about their Chief Engineer's opinion regarding the pressing issue.

Yuki Tsunoda is a Red Bull Racing driver since one month. Ever since his promotion, the Japanese F1 driver has been steadily gaining traction on the grid. He has been earning points here and there for the second Red Bull Racing car, unlike his predecessor. Yuki Tsunoda is no Max Verstappen. He can not be expected to bring in a victory or even a podium finish yet. But, he is slowly adapting himself to get the best out of his car.

At first, Tsunoda could not do any better than Liam Lawson at Red Bull. Isack Hadjar’s performance at Racing Bulls was a also a danger bell ringing for Tsunoda. But Red Bull Racing gave him their confidence. First, Helmut Marko confirmed his stay at the Austrian outfit for the entirety of the 2025 situation. After that, it was Christian Horner who was full of praise for his new driver.

Red Bull put great emphasis on the fact that Tsunoda was not far behind Verstappen. In fact, he was slowly getting closer to the Dutchman every weekend. Yuki Tsunoda is still adapting to the car, his main issues are instability and inconsistent race pace. But, it seems like Red Bull Racing camp is impressed with his efforts.

Chief Engineer, Paul Monaghan Praises Yuki Tsunoda for “Settling In Really Well”

Yuki Tsunoda finished in points in two out of the last three Grand Prix he was a part of. He also brought his car in Q3 for a top-10 grid position at three circuits in the past races. Tsunoda’s results are not perfect yet. However, they are inching closer towards the main goal. Red Bull Racing want a reliable driver to support Max Verstappen. Tsunoda is currently fighting in the middle of the pack. If he continues growing positively, there’s no doubt that he will be helping Red Bull alongside Verstappen in no time.

Chief Engineer Monaghan spoke for the team, when he talked about Tsunoda. He did recognise the fact that Yuki Tsunoda got into Red Bull during difficult circumstances. But, Monaghan also noted his ability to stand up for himself and praised him for it.

“He came in, he’s been forthright in his feedback, he’s been courteous, he’s been a good team member. He’s been a little bit unlucky at times, lucky at others… He’s finding his feet. He’s not afraid to speak his mind, he states what he wants and what he doesn’t like, which is good. He’s in the team, he’s a good member of it, and he’ll be fine. He seems able to avoid the intimidation of being Max’s team mate at the moment, so that’s really good. I’m impressed. He’s got more than a spine to him.”

Red Bull’s chief engineer also instilled hope in fans with their aspirations. He says that the team is understanding their 2025 car better each weekend. They are making small but positive increments in terms of performance. Red Bull Racing is confident that the car will perform as expected if they progress steadily.
