Yuki Tsunoda Gets Chance “To the End of the Season”- Helmut Marko

Rohan Singh

Helmut Marko has confirmed an important decision on Red Bull's behalf about their new driver.

Yuki Tsunoda is among the most improved drivers of the 2025 F1 grid. He dramatically changes his underconfident and complaint prone personality in five years of his F1 career. Tsunoda’s self-confidence and sheer performance helped him dominate over Liam Lawson in 2025. He was able to secure his dream seat at Red Bull Racing. Yuki Tsunoda is set to drive with the team from the Japanese Grand Prix. The Red Bull team, on the other hand, has a much more complicated situation. They have faced another driver dilemma with Liam Lawson. The Bulls hope that Yuki Tsunoda gets the job done. But there is no disagreement on the fact that Red Bull effectively ruined Liam Lawson’s first full season in F1.

Red Bull management is under heavy scrutiny since their latest decision. Their mastermind, Helmut Marko, has come forth to clarify the recent doubts amongst the media. He recently clarified his stance on Max Verstappen’s dissatisfaction with Red Bull decisions. Given Red Bull’s history of ruining its driver, people are concerned about Yuki Tsunoda’s stay at Red Bull Racing.

Helmut Marko Gives Green Signal to Yuki Tsunoda

Helmut Marko is under a lot of fire due to another one of his driver decisions. The way Red Bull handled Liam Lawson has increased concerns about their driver program. Marko himself had to accept that they made a mistake with the early promotion of Liam Lawson. According to Helmut Marko, Lawson need not worry as he will have ample time at Racing Bulls to restart his career without any unnecessary pressure. Ironically, Marko had the audacity to mention their ex-drivers, Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon. He claimed that they were able to “recover” from their demotion. Maybe Marko needs a reminder that they recovered from their own talent. Red Bull Racing’s hot-headed behaviour was not the catalyst behind their growth in F1.

When asked about Tsunoda, Helmut Marko had many positives to deliver, much to the relief of the F1 community. Helmut Marko has stated that Tsunoda has an entire year to prove his worth to the team. He has mentioned that he will get time until the end of the 2025 season to perform beside Max Verstappen.

“Tsunoda made a big step. It’s strange after four years, now in his fifth year, he is a much stronger personality, he has more confidence and he did two very good races, it’s just his strategy didn’t work at Racing Bulls.”

Helmut Marko’s confidence in Tsunoda can also be attributed to their own faults. If Tsunoda is unable to deliver as expected, Red Bull doesn’t have another option. Their first driver, Lawson, was demoted on the same grounds. They can’t bring Isack Hajdar mid-season to pop out of nowhere into a Formula 1 seat. The F1 driver market is pretty stable currently. Thus, Red Bull have tightened the noose around their own neck.
