Unfortunately for Deiveson Figueriedo, his leg locking attempts failed at every turn and he had to suffer the constant damage from Cory Sandhagen throughout the fight. This also resulted in him suffering a knee injury. Eventually though, Cory Sandhagen TKO/KO’ed Deiveson Figueiredo in Round 2. Sandhagen also got one of the best fights in his MMA career with this. The fight brought him a Performance of the Night bonus as per the UFC on X. His MMA record become 18-5-0 with this win.
Cory Sandhagen has returned to his winning ways. That too against a former two-time UFC Flyweight Champion. Now, he has asked to be put next in line for a title shot via UFC on X.
Cory Sandhagen wants a title shotty against the winner of the main event UFC 316 on June 7, 2025. That event will see Merab “The Machine” Dvalishvili defend his UFC Bantamweight title against “Suga” Sean O’Malley as a rematch in the main event. Cory Sandhagen, on his part, has volunteered to be the backup for the fight. He has also asked the UFC to give him a title shot against whoever wins in that main event as per the UFC official site.
Cory Sandhagen has made his intentions clear following his impressive victory against Deiveson Figueiredo. Now, fans will have to wait and see if Dana White and the UFC grants him his wish or not.
