UFC Fight Night 256 – UFC’s Debut in Des Moines Brings Exciting Match-Ups!

For the first time ever, the UFC will be hosting an even at Des Moines, Iowa, on May 3rd, 2025. The promotion has not held an event in Iowa since UFC 26 in June, 2000. It has been nearly 25 years since Iowa has seen any of the UFC action, and there are several big names that are expected to fight in Iowa.

The Fight Night will feature a bantamweight clash between Cory Sandhagen and Deiveson Figueiredo as the main event of the evening, and also include several other fights such as Bo Nickal vs. Reinier de Ridder, a Des Moines native Jeremy Stephens vs Mason Jones, and many more fights.

UFC Des Moines Main Event

Cory Sandhagen is set to take on Deiveson Figueiredo for the main event of the upcoming UFC Des Moines card. This will be Sandhagen’s first fight since losing to Umar Nurmagomedov via decision on August, 2024. Whereas for Deiveson Figueiredo, he hasn’t fought since taking a loss going against Petr Yan on November of 2024.

Both of these fighters after coming off of defeats and will try to get back on track by winning in Des Moines.
