The 51-27 rout has surely left scars on the Saints.
In week 6, the New Orleans Saints have been severely defeated by the Buccaneers for a 4th straight loss. In the meantime, the Broncos (3-3) have also been defeated by a division rival, the Chargers.
This Thursday night football matchup will be the perfect occasion to bounce back from a loss or maybe, for the Saints, getting deeper into a crisis.
For this matchup, the Broncos are the favorite with a 2.5 points margin and 51.3% chance of winning this game.
The Broncos’ defense ranks fifth in the NFL in passing yards allowed, conceding only 170.2 yards per game. This defensive strength could pressure Saints backup QB Spencer Rattler, who is stepping in for the injured Derek Carr.
Denver’s rushing defense, allowing 114.2 yards per game, is also solid, although it ranks mid-tier, potentially giving Saints running back Alvin Kamara room to make an impact.
Quarterback Bo Nix has had an inconsistent season with 1,082 passing yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions.
He’ll need to elevate his game to exploit the Saints’ struggling pass defense, which ranks 29th, allowing 262.2 yards per game. Denver’s running game has been lackluster, averaging 107.3 yards, and may find it difficult to break through the Saints’ front line.
Alvin Kamara remains a significant factor for New Orleans with 428 rushing yards and six touchdowns this season, helping the Saints rank fourth in points per game (27.8).
However, Rattler’s ability to adjust quickly and manage turnovers will be critical. Kamara and the Saints’ offensive unit will need to capitalize on Denver’s defensive lapses to keep the game competitive.
The under 37.5 might be tempting considering offensive struggles on both sides but Alvin kamara anytime touchdown (-110) might be the best choice.
