Four fights announced on the upcoming July 12 Ring Magazine 3 card featuring fan favourite bouts!
Boxing has evolved into showcasing stacked events that give fans more bang for their buck. This shift began years ago when promoters realized hardcore boxing enthusiasts wanted depth beyond just the headliner. From the legendary cards of the 90s to today’s mega-events, multi-fight spectacles have become the gold standard for keeping fans engaged. And the upcoming Ring Magazine Card on July 12 in New York City is following this tradition with not one, not two, but three high-stakes matchups that have boxing fans already marking their calendars.
The third installment of Ring Magazine’s fight series promises to deliver fireworks from top to bottom. With two championship bouts and a title eliminator featuring some of boxing’s most exciting talents, this DAZN-exclusive event is shaping up to be one of summer’s must-watch cards.
The card’s headliner features Brooklyn’s own Edgar Berlanga squaring off against England’s undefeated Hamzah Sheeraz in a WBC super middleweight title eliminator. Berlanga, currently ranked #9 by The Ring, is looking to bounce back after suffering his first professional defeat against Canelo Alvarez last September. That loss taught the 27-year-old Puerto Rican some valuable lessons, and now he’s aiming to prove he belongs among the division’s elite. His 23-1 record with 18 knockouts shows he carries serious power.
Sheeraz presents an intriguing challenge as he moves up from middleweight. There, he recently fought to a controversial draw against Carlos Adames for the WBC title. The 25-year-old Englishman brings his own impressive knockout percentage (17 KOs in 21 wins) and significantly more height and reach than Berlanga typically faces. The winner likely positions themselves for a future shot at whoever holds the WBC super middleweight title after Canelo’s upcoming defense.
The co-main event of the Ring Magazine 3features one of boxing’s most technically gifted champions. Shakur Stevenson defends his WBC lightweight title against undefeated Mexican pressure fighter William Zepeda. Stevenson brings his perfect 23-0 record and slick southpaw skills against perhaps his toughest challenge to date. The three-division champion has often been criticized for safety-first performances.

Zepeda might be the perfect foil for Stevenson’s skills. The Mexican brings relentless pressure, heavy hands (27 KOs in 33 wins), and a body-punching attack that has broken down many opponents. Fresh off two victories over former champion Tevin Farmer, Zepeda has earned his title shot the hard way. However, he will need to overcome Stevenson’s defensive wizardry and counter-punching ability.
The second title fight features Alberto Puello defending his WBC junior welterweight belt against former champion Subriel Matias in what could steal the show as a slugfest. Puello, undefeated at 24-0, brings technical skills and elite boxing ability. But Matias brings the kind of punching power that changes fights in an instant. All 22 of his victories have come by knockout.
Rounding out the card is David Morrell against undefeated Russian Imam Khataev in a compelling light heavyweight clash. Morrell seeks to rebound from his first career loss to David Benavidez. Meanwhile Khataev aims to keep his perfect record intact.
