Alex “Poatan” Pereira meets WWE’s Tribal Chief

Natasha Bose

WWE’s Tribal Chief Roman Reigns and UFC’s Alex Pereira share an iconic moment on SmackDown

The Bloodline is back and stronger than ever.

On WWE SmackDown this week, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso reunited with Sami Zayn, bringing the original Bloodline together once more.

In the show’s main event, Solo was meant to be celebrated in an Undisputed Tribal Chief Acknowledgement Ceremony. But Reigns quickly stepped in to put a stop to it.

As the OTC took the ring, Solo demanded that Roman recognize him as the Undisputed Tribal Chief. Roman then asked the Buffalo crowd if they thought Sikoa deserved acknowledgment, and loud boos filled the arena.

Reigns didn’t back down, throwing out a challenge to Sikoa for a one-on-one match where the winner claims the title of the Only Tribal Chief.

But the night wasn’t just about that.

Unexpected highlight of the night

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira was also there for Friday’s “SmackDown,” and even got a chance to meet the OTC.

The two exchanged shirts, similar to the jersey swaps athletes often do in the NBA, NFL, and soccer.

At first, Reigns’ “OTC” shirt looked almost identical to his previous ones, but a close-up revealed a new addition — a “Yeet” stitched into the upper left-hand corner. It’s clear they’re seizing every chance to add to the merch lineup!

It was a memorable moment for everyone involved.

And that’s not all…

Jon Jones says UFC superstar is ‘Worth Fighting Again’

Though Jones isn’t excited about the Aspinall matchup, he would consider stepping back into the Octagon with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira if his swan song doesn’t come at UFC 309.

“The performance is definitely going to dictate what happens next,” Jones said on a recent UFC broadcast (h/t: Jed I. Goodman). “My goal is to have a flawless performance, a really dominant performance, and to either retire or to fight against Alex Pereira in a mega-fight, whether it’s for the belt or not. I don’t need any more belts.”

Jones’ undisputed heavyweight title has been the center of attention, with interim champion Tom Aspinall waiting to unify since he knocked out Sergei Pavlovich last year on short notice — all while dealing with an injury.

That unification fight is still pending, leaving Aspinall to defend his interim title against Curtis Blaydes earlier this year, as Jones remained absent.

Some of the UFC’s biggest names, like “Rampage” Jackson, Randy Couture, Ronda Rousey, and “The Notorious” Conor McGregor, have already dipped their toes in Hollywood. McGregor, for instance, made his acting debut in Amazon’s hit movie Road House, alongside A-lister Jake Gyllenhaal.

Could Jon Jones find himself on the big screen once his UFC career reaches its end?

I write about sports because, well, it brings in the big bucks! I’m not some lifelong analyst or stats guru, truth being told, you’ve probably never heard of me!—I just know how to research, write, and make things sound good. That’s the job!
Got into sports media the same way most people do: by (fortunate) accident. Started with SEO writing, took on a few sports gigs, and now here we are! I cover games, trades, player drama—whatever needs words.
Favorite part? The chaos. One day it’s a blockbuster trade, the next it’s a goat running onto the field. Never boring.
Message to readers: If you want deep analysis, there are people for that. If you want sharp, no-BS writing that actually makes sense, stick around.
