The Undertaker and Genoa CFC introduced a black third kit, marking a fusion of wrestling and football cultures
In a groundbreaking collaboration, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has partnered with Serie A club Genoa CFC to unveil the team’s first-ever black third kit. This initiative is part of Genoa’s “Golden Dark Side of Genoa” campaign, celebrating the city’s rich cultural diversity.
Genoa introduced the new kit through a dramatic video on their social media platforms. The teaser featured aerial views of Genoa accompanied by The Undertaker’s iconic theme music.
The video culminated with The Undertaker himself. He was clad in the black jersey adorned with gold accents, embodying the fusion of wrestling’s mystique and football tradition.
This black third kit marks a significant departure from Genoa’s traditional colors, being the first in the club’s 131-year history.
The jersey features gold sponsor symbols, the club crest, and trim, creating a striking contrast against the black background. The design includes various silhouettes of the Grifone—the main figure in Genoa’s logo—spread across the shirt. The collar bears the inscription “DALL’INIZIO, PER SEMPRE” (“From the Beginning and Forever”), paying homage to the club’s storied past.
The collaboration has been met with widespread acclaim from fans and media alike. Social media buzzed with excitement, with many praising the unexpected yet fitting partnership. One fan remarked, “A collaboration we didn’t know we needed.”
This initiative follows Genoa’s previous “Golden Dark Side of Genoa” campaign, which featured singer Rita Ora and highlighted the city’s cultural richness.
By merging the worlds of professional wrestling and football, Genoa CFC and The Undertaker have created a unique cultural moment that resonates with fans across both sports.
Fans are optimistic that the new kit will energize the team, currently languishing in 17th place in Serie A, only two points above last place. After the international break, Genoa will resume their campaign with a home match against Cagliari.
