WWE Friday Night SmackDown Main Event: American Nightmare Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Uso lose to Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga after Kevin Owens Antics

Kevin Owens' distraction proved to be fruitful for Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu as Cody left his tag team partner Jimmy inside the ring alone.

The New Bloodline continued their feud with OG Bloodline members and attacked Jimmy Uso. They were about to injure Jimmy Neck with a chair when “American Nightmare” Cody entered and saved Jimmy Uso. Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga were escorted out of the arena with the help of LA Knight. The Megastar LA Knight was dominating Shinsuke Nakamura in a match for the United States Championship when an interruption from the New Bloodline closed the match with disqualification.

Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu started brutalizing LA Knight when Cody Rhodes and Jimmy came to the aid of LA Knight. They launched a vicious attack on the new Bloodline and threw them over the barricade. General Manager Nick Aldis was asking security to escort them out when Cody stopped Nick. He asked for a Tag Team match between him and Jimmy against Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga.

Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga triumph after Kevin Owens distracts Rhodes

The brutal match between the two tag teams unfolded and the members of either team started exchanging body blows. The most physical match of today’s Friday Night Smackdown kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga dominated Jimmy Uso but it’s not easy to keep Jimmy down.

Jimmy and Cody gained momentum and started dominating Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu. Jacob Fatu tried to single-handedly dominate but Jimmy and Cody’s in-ring experience was too much for him. A Cody Cutter from the third rope threw him out of the ring. The American Nightmare was dominating Tama Tonga after delivering a Cody Cutter. He was setting him up for Cross Rhodes when Kevin Owens entered the Arena.

A distracted Cody left the arena following Owens. Jimmy tried to take charge and hit Tama Tonga with a spear followed by a Uso Splash. He was about to pin Tama when Jacob Fatu pulled him out of the ring. A two-on-one physical assault followed by an Over the Moonsault from Jacob was enough to pin Jimmy. It was a match worthy of the main event.

Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owen fought and entered the arena again. No one was ready to give in. The American Nightmare threw K.O. at the barricades. They both brawled their way towards a table. Kevin Owens tried to Powerboomb Cody Rhodes through a table but Cody countered. Cody drove Kevin Owens off the table and both of them went through the table to the concrete floor. Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens are scheduled to square off in a ladder match at Royal Rumble for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
