Former kickboxer, Carlos Ulberg has emerged as the rising star in the UFC’s light heavyweight division. The New Zealander’s journey into combat sports began with a decorated kickboxing career, where he had compiled a 19-2 record with 12 knockouts, and multiple titles under his belt. Transitioning to MMA, he trains alongside notable fighters such as Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski at City Kickboxing based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Ulberg joined the UFC in November of 2020 after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series with a first round knockout against Bruno Oliveira. After his debut loss against Kennedy Nzechukwu in 2021, he went on a one-year hiatus but after his return in 2022, he has looked unstoppable so far winning 7-straight fights (tied for 4th all-time with Chuck Liddell for the longest win streak in light heavyweight division). Known for his explosive striking ability, which is highlighted by a 12 second knockout of Alonzo Menifield in May of 2024 (3rd fastest in light heavyweight history), Ulberg currently sits at 6th in the rankings and is looking like the next fighter that’s on the come up.

Carlos Ulberg’s Next Fight

Carlos Ulberg is set to take on Jan Blachowicz at UFC Fight Night 255 on March 22nd, 2025, at O2 Arena, in London, England. While Blachowicz is the more experienced fighter between the two, Ulberg is a dangerous and is looking forward to beating the Polish fighter, for a chance to compete for the light heavyweight belt.

Carlos Ulberg’s previous fight was against Volkan Oezdemir at UFC Fight Night: Yan vs. Figueiredo, back in November of 2024. Ulberg ended up winning the fight via unanimous decision, which marked his seventh straight victory in the UFC.
