UFC International Fight Week Gets First Fight and It Is a Certified Banger!

Eric Divakaran

The UFC flyweight division is poised for an explosive showdown at UFC 317 on June 28, 2025, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, as two of its most outstanding talents will once again collide during International Fight Week. After a lot of delay, including a cancelled main event earlier this year due to injury, this rebooked fight will most likely shake things up in the 125 division. Let’s find out who we’re talking about.

Brandon Royval is set to take on Manel Kape at UFC 317

Brandon Royval and Manel Kape are set to take on each other for a clash at UFC 317. After a lot of setbacks, which includes a cancelled main fight at UFC Vegas 103 in March due to Royval’s concussion, the fight has been rescheduled once again.

With Royval, the No.1 ranked contender, is riding quite a wave of momentum going into the fight as he has won 5 of his last 6 fights, and his only loss coming against Alexandre Pantoja who’s is reigning defending flyweight title holder. Royval had to fight his way back through a lot of adversities and unsurety to get back into the Octagon again. With some reports stating that Royval could not even form sentences properly due to his concussion. The last time he was active in the UFC, he’s gotten victories against Brandon Moreno (2nd best in the flyweight division) and Tatsuro Taira (5th in the flyweight division), and is looking forward to carry on the win streak to three as he takes on Kape who’s currently ranked 6th in the 125 division.

Meanwhile Kape just fought last month and is coming off of two finishes against Bruno Silva (12th in flyweight) and Asu Almabayev (8th in flyweight). He has a current record of 21-7-0 and if he manages to beat Royval or vice versa, we could be looking at the next challenger for the current flyweight champ in Pantoja. Almabayev was handed the opportunity of his life when he replaced Royval, at UFC Fight Night, to take on Kape, however, he could not get the job done.

Brandon Royval vs Manel Kape odds

Manel Kape is the -198 moderate favorite to win the fight against the underdog +164 Brandon Royval. Royval hasn’t fought inside the octagon since October of 2024, and according to reports he had suffered a series of concussions, putting him out of the action for the last 6 months.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
