“Ilia Topuria went on to fight for the title after Josh Emmett, so for me, this is a No. 1 contender fight…I’m here to provide for my family and get that title and I don’t really care about anything else. It’s probably because I’m quiet and reserved. I’m always going to be me. I’m never going to be fake. I could be fake and be an actor, but I’m always going to stick to what feels good for me.”

Despite his perfect record, Murphy recognizes that fighting skill alone doesn’t always lead to title opportunities in today’s UFC. The promotion often rewards flashy personalities and social media presence just as much as in-cage performance. Murphy, however, refuses to compromise his values to gain attention.

However, his commitment to authenticity might explain why other UK fighters with less impressive records have received more promotional push. Murphy accepts this reality without bitterness and remains focused on providing for his family and collecting victories until the UFC has no choice but to grant him a title shot!
