Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton is likely to attend the 2025 Royal Rumble.
Indiana Pacers star, Tyrese Haliburton is a huge WWE fan and the two-time NBA All-Star was in the house at WWE SmackDown on Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indianapolis. Carmelo Hayes faced Jimmy Uso in the opening match of SmackDown on Friday.
Haliburton is also a big fan of Jimmy Uso, who gave the Indiana Pacers star a high-five, and won the match. WWE also presented Tyrese Haliburton with the Community Champion Award at press conference ahead of Smackdown and the Royal Rumble this weekend.
Tyrese Haliburton has made regular appearances on WWE television, including a showdown with the Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson on June 28, 2024. Later, he stepped into an NXT Title Match contract between then-champion Ethan Page and Trick Williams on Sep. 17.
WWE Royal Rumble is approaching in a few hours and amidst all the speculations, Haliburton has named his pick for the 30-man Royal Rumble match, which will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Ahead of WWE Smackdown on Friday night, Haliburton was interviewed by former professional football punter Pat McAfee. “I’m expecting a lot of energy,” Haliburton said. “Indy deserves this. I’m really excited about it and it’s going to be a lot of fun. So let’s do it.”
The Indiana All-Star will be in action for the Pacers’ crucial weekend matchup against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday but he will be at the Royal Rumble just after the NBA game. Haliburton was asked about his clear pick for Royal Rumble match. Crowd started chanting for CM Punk but Haliburton surprised with the answer.
“Does that mean I’m supposed to agree?” Haliburton said. “Give me John Cena!”
The 2025 Royal Rumble features multiple WWE Superstars including Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins and Haliburton’s favorite John Cena.
The 16-time WWE Champion and one of the biggest stars of the franchise’s history, John Cena will wrestle his final Royal Rumble in Indianapolis. John Cena will hang up his wrestling boots at the end of 2025. He would compete at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 41.
John Cena announced his retirement plan when he made a surprise appearance in Toronto during WWE’s Money in the Bank last year. The 47-year-old has shaped the trajectory of the WWE with his incredible career and Cenation Leader is chasing the goal of becoming the 17-time WWE World Champion to break the tie with Ric Flair.
John Cena made eight entries in Royal Rumble and has two wins. He won the Rumble game in 2008 and 2013. The WWE Superstar’s first Rumble win was special when he made a return from injury and won the 2008 Rumble PLE at the Madison Square Garden.
