Even the last lap of the race did not go by calmly. Until the last moment, drivers were in a heated battle amongst themselves. Nico Rosberg’s commentary on Sky F1 broadcast was the cherry on top for Spanish GP.
The top-10 finishers after today’s race are as follows-
Oscar Piastri got away with a magnificent start. He was able to gain a healthy lead with his teammate stuck in battle. Piastri was able to orchestrate a perfect race after the safety car restart and defend his lead to victory.

Lando Norris on the other hand fumbled his start and lost to Verstappen. However, his McLaren’s pace eventually brought him back. Unfortunately Piastri was too far from time Norris by the time he was stable. Charles Leclerc and his team managed the strategy effectively to bring him up the order. The Monegasque didn’t leave any stone unturned after race restart to overtake Max Verstappen and claim podium.
George Russell was having a difficult race in Spain. He fell down the order and spent the race chasing the Ferrari. Once he was back into his original position, he was involved in an incident with Max Verstappen. Russell is the only finishing driver between the two Mercedes. His teammate suffered a power unit failure. Nico Hulkenberg did an amazing race with his Sauber bringing in fifth for the team. Behind him, Lewis Hamilton finished in sixth. Hamilton’s race went utterly terrible against his rivals. Lewis Hamilton’s rear tyre was facing a loss of grip making him a prey to Sauber.

Isack Hadjar and Pierre Gasly successfully managed to bring in points for their teams. They were joined by Fernando Alonso who won his first points of the season. However, the worst race was for Max Verstappen. At one point he was looking forward to a victory but by the end, he was struck with a 10s penalty for causing a collision.
Liam Lawson and Gabriel Bortoleto gave everything they could today but couldn’t earn points. Lawson was a part many incidents with fellow rookie Oliver Bearman. Red Bull’s three stop strategy did not work out for Tsunoda who was stuck in traffic once again.

I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university's Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
