PSG Progress to the Champions League Final Winning the Semi-Finals 3–1 on Aggregate.

Paris Saint-Germain have secured a place in the UEFA Champions League final. They’ve done it with a 2-1 win over Arsenal in the second leg of their semi-final on Wednesday. Thus, completing a 3-1 win on aggregate at the end of the two legs. The game at Parc des Princes delivered drama, tactical battles, and individual brilliance.

PSG’s goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma especially delivered an inspiring performance. Added to his brilliance, the French club’s counter attacking prowess and ruthless finishing absolutely to be credited. Arsenal’s efforts were there but missed chances cost them the match today. Here are three defining takeaways from the night in Paris:

Another UCL Night, Another Goalkeeping Masterclass: Gianluigi Donnarumma in Focus

It has been a semi-final for the goalkeepers this season. This time it was Gianluigi Donnarumma tonight stopping one shot after another, which became central to PSG’s progression. The Italian goalkeeper produced a number of key saves, particularly in the first half when Arsenal dominated possession and carved out several chances.

He denied Martin Odegaard with a diving stop. He was also alert to Gabriel Martinelli’s close-range effort. Throughout the match, Donnarumma’s calm presence and reflex saves frustrated Arsenal’s attacking trio. Thus, keeping PSG firmly in control of the tie. His performance has rightly drawn praise as one of his best in a PSG shirt.

Arsenal’s Dominance Yields No Reward

Arsenal started the match on the front foot. They showed urgency and purpose. Mikel Arteta’s side created multiple openings throughout the entire match, but failed to convert those chances. They pressed on PSG’s defence and was forced to make errors.

However, their failure to convert dominance into goals proved costly. Gabriel Jesus missed a half-chance in the box, while Bukayo Saka’s several shots drifted wide. Despite their intensity, Arsenal lacked the final touch in front of goal. It became a pattern that ultimately hurt them across both legs.

PSG’s Ruthless Finishing Proves the Difference

While Arsenal missed their early chances, PSG punished them with clinical finishing. Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a low drive past David Raya after a quick break from midfield. The second goal came in the 72nd minute, when Achraf Hakimi latched onto a threaded pass to slot home a composed finish.

Though Arsenal pulled one back late into the game through Bukayo Saka, it wasn’t enough. PSG’s ability to convert limited chances into goals underlined their efficiency. Luis Enrique’s side will now meet Inter Milan on May 31 in the Champions League final in Munich.
