PSG Defeat Arsenal 2–1 in the Second Leg, Securing a 3–1 Aggregate Win To Reach the Champions League Final.

Paris Saint-Germain have secured their place in the UEFA Champions League final with a 2-1 win over Arsenal in the semi-final second leg. With a 3-1 aggregate win at Parc des Princes, PSG booked their spot against Inter Milan in the final. Goals from Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi propelled PSG past the Gunners.

Arsenal only managed a late consolation through Bukayo Saka. The Gunners entered the match trailing 1-0 from the first leg. They needed a strong performance to overturn the deficit and kept early pressure to create constant opportunities. However, they were unable to capitalize, allowing PSG to extend their lead and ultimately secure the win.

First Half: Fabian Ruiz Opens the Scoring

Arsenal kept constant pressure from the first minute into the match. However, as they couldn’t convert, PSG took the advantage. They started on keeping a steady pressure until Arsenal showed defensive lapses too pounce on the chance.

In the 27th minute, PSG’s Fabian Ruiz broke the deadlock with a powerful volley from outside the box. Thus, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead on the night and a 2-0 advantage on aggregate. However, it wasn’t the end of woe for the Gunners.

Second Half: Raya’s Penalty Save & Hakimi Doubling PSG’s Lead

PSG had a chance to further their lead with a penalty. After a shot from Hakimi hit Lewis Myles-Skelly on his hand, the VAR intervened and a penalty was given to PSG. However, Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya made a crucial save, diving to his right to deny the spot-kick and keep his team within reach.

Arsenal showed consistency and even with the saved penalty, PSG again got the better of the Gunners. Midway through the second half, Achraf Hakimi extended PSG’s lead to 2-0 in the 72nd minute. The goal resulted from a swift counter-attack, with Hakimi finishing off a well-orchestrated move that left the Arsenal defense scrambling.

Late Drama: Saka’s Consolation Goal

Arsenal kept on trying after that and even managed to pull one back in the 76th minute when Bukayo Saka found the net. It offered a glimmer of hope for the visitors but nothing seemed to work after that. Despite increased pressure in the closing stages, Arsenal couldn’t find the additional goals needed to level the tie.

They missed close chances including one where Saka had an empty post in front of him but he misfired. PSG held on to secure their spot in the final. With this win, PSG have advanced to the Champions League final where they will face Inter Milan. Considering how good these two sides have been, needless to say, it will be an absolutely thrilling clash.
