The NHL schedule for today holds a lot of potential, as many fireworks are promised during the day. The one played at T-Mobile Arena between the Ottawa Senators and the Vegas Golden Knights will surely be on fire among the featured games. Here is everything you need to know about how to tune in to today’s NHL.
The Predators (1-5-0) search for their first win away from their home this season as they take on a Central Division foe on the second night of a back-to-back. On Tuesday, they snapped a season-opening, five-game losing streak with a 4-0 win over the Boston Bruins. Juuse Saros made 33 saves for his 24th NHL career shutout. Center Ryan O’Reilly has five points (one goal, four assists) in a four-game point streak, including a goal and an assist Tuesday. Center Connor Bedard (one goal, six assists), center Teuvo Teravainen (three goals, four assists), and defenseman Seth Jones (one goal, six assists) each have seven points in seven games for the Blackhawks (2-4-1).
2. Pittsburgh Penguins at Edmonton Oilers (9 p.m. ET; TVAS, SN1, SN-PIT)
Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby have seen each other 13 times throughout their careers before each center heads to the 4 Nations Face-Off as a member of the Canadian squad in February. McDavid has eight points, including three goals and five assists, in a six-game point streak for the Oilers, who went to overtime to lose 3-2 to the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. The Penguins 3-4-1 are looking to halt a three-game skid 0-2-1 after taking a 4-3 shootout loss at the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.
3. Ottawa Senators at Vegas Golden Knights (6 p.m. ET; SCRIPPS, TSN5, RDS2)
The Golden Knights aim to finish their matinee game on Nevada Day with a perfect record at T-Mobile Arena following a 6-1 victory against the Los Angeles Kings. Tomas Hertl, center, earned four points in the victory by netting two goals and providing two assists. Brady Tkachuk of the Senators is on a three-game goal streak and a six-game point streak, beginning with three goals and five assists, as his team sits at 4-2-0 after their second straight win, a 4-0 victory over the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday.
Forward Timo Meier has seven points in his past four games as the Devils attempt to halt their three-game losing streak following a 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday. Ilya Sorokin of the Islanders leads the NHL in starts for the lowest goals-against average into the early part of the season with a 1.34 effort. Noah Dobson, the defenseman for New York (2-2-2), leads the team with four points from four assists in six games.
