Kyle Guy
Kyle Guy was born on August 11, 1997, in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. He played high school basketball at Lawrence Central in Indianapolis, where he was a four-year varsity athlete. In his senior year, he averaged 23.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists, which earned him the title of Indiana Mr. Basketball and a McDonald’s All-American.
Guy continued his basketball career at the University of Virginia, playing as a point guard for three years from 2016 to 2019. During his time at Virginia, he achieved significant milestones, including being named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player in his junior season. He was a consensus Third-Team All-American in 2019 and a Third-Team All-American in 2018. He also earned First-Team All-ACC honors twice (2018 and 2019) and was the ACC Tournament MVP in 2018. He finished his collegiate career at UVA first in 3-point percentage (42.5%), third in 3-pointers made (254), and 26th in scoring (1,323 points). His career collegiate statistics include a field goal percentage of 43.3%, a 3-point percentage of 42.5%, and a free throw percentage of 80.6%. He averaged 12.9 points per game throughout his college career.
In the 2019 NBA draft, Kyle Guy was selected in the second round as the 55th overall pick by the New York Knicks. His professional career has included stints with several teams. Most recently, in October 2025, Guy is coming out of retirement at 28 years old to sign an Exhibit 10 contract with the Indiana Pacers and is expected to join their G League affiliate. Prior to this, he had spent the 2024-2025 season on Virginia’s coaching staff as a special assistant. He had also been an assistant coach at Nevada. His playing career also included stints with the Sacramento Kings (2019–2021), Panathinaikos (2023–2024), and La Laguna Tenerife (2024). He is 1.85 m tall and weighs 76 kg.
