Anfernee Simons
Anfernee Simons is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Simons attended Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida, before transferring to Montverde Academy in his senior year. After reclassifying for the class of 2018, he opted to skip college and declare for the 2018 NBA draft, becoming the first American player to enter the draft directly from high school since the NBA changed its eligibility rules in 2005.
Simons was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 24th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. He signed his rookie contract with the Trail Blazers on July 2, 2018. During his rookie season, he primarily played with the team’s G League affiliate, the Texas Legends, on a two-way contract.
