The Magic are sinking rapidly
The Magic come into this game after suffering a 16-point loss against the Toronto Raptors despite a 26-point effort by Paolo Banchero. They have lost four in a row and six out of their last seven games. The absence of Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner has dissolved their depth and Banchero’s return has done little to arrest their slide. The injury bug has derailed their season and it is commendable that they have somehow remained around the .500 win mark. Suggs and Wagner may return soon propelling the team back into the playoffs contention.
The Trail Blazers have some promise
The Trail Blazers enter the contest after an unexpected 9-point win against the Miami Heat as Anfernee Simons poured in 24 points. They have won two in a row after a five-game losing streak. The guard trio of Shaedon Sharpe, Scoot Henderson, and Simons seems to have a bright future. However, the frontline is a major Achilles Heel for the squad and they need a two-way force to make a difference. Despite their poor record, the Trail Blazers have rather done well and will be keenly looking at the 2025 NBA Draft.

The Magic are completely off-rhythm right now and need their full-strength starting lineup to gain some semblance. As of now, their vulnerabilities give the Trail Blazers to pull off an upset just like the Raptors. However, I see the Magic picking their game up here and breaking their losing streak. The total may be below 215 points.

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
