The 2025 UEFA Champions League final brought a historic victory for Paris-Saint-Germain, thrashing Inter Milan 5-0 at the Allianz Arena. PSG’s victory marked their first-ever Champions League title, with goals from Desire Doue, Achraf Hakimi, Senny Mayulu, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The win has now capped a sensational season for Kvaratskhelia who transferred from Napoli to PSG in January 2025 and became the second player in history to win a quadruple across two teams in one season. It includes securing two league titles, the Coupe de France, and the Champions League.
Georgian athletes have continued to thrive internationally, with UFC fighters like Ilia Topuria and Merab Dvalishvili taking charge. UFC Bantamweight champion, Dvalishvili won his belt after taking down Sean O’Malley at UFC 306 in December 2024, finishing with a unanimous decision victory. His success paired with Kvaratskhelia’s football achievement, has brought Georgia its pride. The Bantamweight champ took notice of Kvaratskhelia’s achievements, and shared his pride for the fellow Georgian. If you’ve watched Dvalishvili, you’ll know that he has consistently shown his national pride by carrying the Georgian flag during walkouts.
