Karolina Muchova vs. Maddison Inglis Preview, Prediction and Betting Odds for the 2025 Queen’s Club Championships First Round

Rudra Dubey

Muchova returns as the favorite, but Inglis eyes an upset on grass.

The grass-court warm-up for Wimbledon is officially underway, as the Queen’s Club Championships kicked off today with a first-round clash between sixth seed Karolina Muchova and qualifier Maddison Inglis. This marks the first-ever meeting between the two players with contrasting journeys and styles.

The Australian, Inglis, has carved out success on the ITF circuit with nine singles and eight doubles titles but is still chasing her first main-draw win on the WTA Tour. Muchova, a seasoned pro since 2013, reached a career-high ranking of No. 8 in September 2023 and was a finalist at Roland Garros that same year. However, her sole WTA win was in the 2019 Korea Open and she has been battling wrist issues in recent months.

Karolina Muchova vs. Maddison Inglis Preview

Muchova posted strong results early in the season, reaching the semifinals in Linz and Dubai, followed by a fourth-round run in Indian Wells. However, illness forced her to withdraw from Madrid, and a lingering wrist injury kept her out of Rome. Her comeback at the French Open was cut short by an upset loss to Alycia Parks in the opening round.

Despite the setbacks, the Czech boasts a respectable 12-8 record this year. Statistically, she remains a threat with 93 aces served, a 73.1% success rate on service games, 32.1% on return games, and a 40.3% break point conversion rate.

Inglis, meanwhile, is still trying to find her footing on the WTA Tour. Her standout moment this season came at the Puerto Vallarta Open, where she reached the quarterfinals. Outside of that, it’s been a struggle, marked by early exits or qualifying losses.

On the main tour in 2025, she has played only two events, tallying four aces, with 47.1% of service games won, 11.8% on return, and a 40% break point conversion rate.

Karolina Muchova vs. Maddison Inglis Prediction

On paper, Muchova appears to be the clear favorite, while the numbers show a clear gap in Inglis’ experience and consistency. Still, with Muchova just returning from injury and coming off a disappointing French Open loss, she may not be at peak form. But Muchova’s class and firepower should see her through in the end.

Prediction: Karolina Muchova in straight sets
